Ripstop conveyor belt typically is designed with a breaker layer, often a steel or fabric breaker, between either top or both the top and bottom cover, protect belt from cutting or slitting through warp direction, to provide enhanced protection against rips and punctures, especially when handling sharp or heavy materials.
Breaker Layer
To achieve this, ripstop belts feature an additional impact-resistant layer, often referred to as a breaker, installed above the carcass (the main body of the belt).
Types of Breakers
S – Steel Breakers: These are made of single steel cords in a transversal direction and offer high tensile strength, excellent rip resistance, and are suitable for heavy-duty applications.
F – Fabric Breakers: These are made of woven textile materials and provide good impact, cut, and puncture resistance.
T – Textile breaker as high strength single-cord-breaker provides excellent carcass protection and transversal elasticity.
