Product Introduction

YQ-U8-P Dual-Row Tungsten Carbide Secondary Belt Cleaner

The YQ-U8-P is a high-performance dual-row tungsten carbide secondary belt cleaner designed for installation on the return side of the conveyor, directly behind the discharge pulley. Compared with traditional single-row carbide scrapers, the YQ-U8-P offers significantly higher cleaning efficiency, longer wear life and better stability at high belt speeds, making it ideal for mining, quarry, cement, power plant and port bulk-handling applications.

Model: YQ-U8-P

The YQ-U8-P is used to clean the flat return side of the belt under the discharge pulley. It removes residual material that remains on the belt after primary cleaning, preventing carryback along the return run and improving overall system cleanliness. The cleaner is equipped with an adjustable tensioning system so that the contact pressure can be set according to actual site conditions.

Key Features

  • Dual-row tungsten carbide blade design

The YQ-U8-P uses two rows of alternating long and short carbide blades mounted on segmented polyurethane feet. The overlapping arrangement increases the contact area with the belt, improves scraping angles and ensures continuous coverage across the full belt width.

  • High wear and corrosion resistance

Tungsten carbide blades provide excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance while protecting the belt cover. Service life is much longer than that of conventional steel or polymer scrapers.

  • Reinforced tensioning system

A reinforced spindle and bracket maintain stable pressure across the entire cleaner, even under heavy loads and at high belt speeds up to 6.5 m/s.

  • Segmented design for easy maintenance

The scraper is composed of individual segments. Worn segments or blades can be replaced independently, reducing downtime and maintenance cost.

  • Excellent performance with wet or sticky materials

The dual-row structure and flexible polyurethane feet allow the cleaner to adapt to worn or uneven belt surfaces and maintain efficient cleaning on wet, clayey or fine materials.

Working Principle

The YQ-U8-P is installed beneath the return side of the belt, close to the discharge pulley. The dual rows of carbide blades press against the belt surface. As the belt moves, the blades scrape off any material still adhering to the cover. The alternating long and short blade arrangement creates an overlapping cleaning pattern, ensuring that irregularities, grooves and waves on the belt surface are effectively cleaned in a single pass.

Suitable working Condition

  • Maximum belt speed: 6.5 m/s
  • Maximum belt and cleaner surface temperature: 150°C
  • All conductive components must be properly earthed with a resistance below 10⁶ Ω.
  • In dusty environments, the minimum dust cloud ignition temperature should be higher than 300°C.

The YQ-U8-P is particularly suitable for systems handling wet, sticky or fine materials such as coal, lignite, minerals, aggregates, cement clinker, clay and similar bulk solids.

Advantage over Traditional Single-row cleaners

Compared with conventional single-row carbide belt cleaners, the YQ-U8-P provides:

  • Higher cleaning efficiency

Two rows of blades provide a second scraping action in one pass, dramatically reducing carryback.

  • Better adaptation to belt wear

Alternating blade lengths and flexible segments follow grooves and waves in the belt that single-row blades often cannot reach.

  • Longer service life and reduced belt wear

The load is distributed across more blades, reducing individual wear while maintaining controlled contact pressure that protects the belt cover.

  • Improved performance with wet or sticky materials

The dual-row design generates additional shear on sticky fines, making it especially effective on clay, mud and high-moisture materials.
